What lets go on a house
Peeling exterior paint on siding and trim is almost never a paint problem on its own. It is a surface problem. Paint laid over dirt, chalking, or an old coat that was already letting go will follow the old coat off the wall, however good the new can is. Faded log home finish and the wrong paint on the wrong surface, interior product on an exterior wall or wood paint on metal, fail the same way: early, and in sheets.
That is why a Harry Joles crew starts with the surface, not the colour. Over 55 years of combined experience on staff has taught the second generation of this Boyceville family business to read what is under the paint before a brush comes out.
